Movie: Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy

Prolapse of the vagina and uterus (womb) is relatively common especially in women who have had several vaginal births. Traditionally, prolapse is treated by vaginal surgery, but laparoscopic techniques have recently been developed which seek to offer certain advantages. One of these techniques is sacrocolpopexy, which involves attaching an inert tape to the top of the vagina and tacking it to the sacrum to treat vault prolapse (prolapse of the top of the vagina).
