Movie: Laparoscopic fibroid morcellation

The procedure of laparoscopic myomectomy, that is the removal of uterine fibroids) consists of three parts - excision of the fibroid from the uterus (womb), repair of the uterus, and finally removal of the fibroid from the abdominal cavity. The latter is most conveniently done using a morcellator, and instrument which chops the fibroid into small pieces and then propels them outside the body, which means that a large incision is avoided. Morcellators are available in different sizes, and the one shown in this clip has a diameter of 10 mm.
