Movie: Laparoscopic examination of the pelvis

The first part of any laparoscopy is inspection of the pelvis and abdomen. In the pelvis is the uterus (womb), fallopian tubes, ovaries, bladder (in front of the uterus), and the rectum (behind the uterus in the pelvic basin called the Pouch of Douglas). On the side of the pelvis, under the ovaries, tracks the ureters (tubes which join the kidneys in the upper abdomen, to the bladder in the pelvis).
