Movie: Laparoscopic bilateral ovarian suspension (BOS)

We developed this technique to facilitate pelvic side wall surgery in cases with endometriosis. As the ovaries and fallopian tubes normally hang behind the uterus (womb), they tend to obscure the side wall of the pelvis, a common site of endometriosis. This makes access to the pelvic side wall difficult. BOS is a simple solution to this problem as it temporarily moves the ovaries and fallopian tubes out of the way until ablation or excision of the endometriosis has been completed.
