Movie: Hysteroscopic polypectomy

Polyps arising from the endometrium (lining of the womb) are common, and become increasingly prevalent with age. Although they can be asymptomatic, typical symptoms associated with polyps include heavy periods, irregular vaginal bleeding and postmenopausal bleeding. Endometrial polyps are usually benign, but the only way to be certain is to remove them for examination under a microscope. The resectoscope, as shown in this case, is the most efficient instrument for removing polyps completely.
